1201 Third Avenue was awarded the Urban Land Institute’s 1994 “Award for Excellence” in the Large Scale Office category, and the Building Owners and Managers Association’s 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2010/2011 and 2020 “The Office Building of the Year” (“TOBY”) Award, in the Over 1 Million Square Feet category for the Pacific Northwest Region and at the BOMA International level. The building also received the 2001 “Mayor Award” in recognition of Outstanding Achievements in Energy Efficiency and Conservation, and third place in 2009 and first place in 2011 in the BOMA Kilowatt Crackdown for highest energy performance in a commercial building.

The building originally received LEED certification in the Existing Building Operations & Maintenance category (LEED-EB O&M v.3) in 2010 and was re-certified LEED v4.1 O+M Gold in 2022.
